Abstract

Observations of whales collated from the logs of the two British, Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Reaserch Expedition (BANZARE) voyages 19-Oct-1929 to 1-April-1930 and 22-Nov-1930 to 19-Mar-1931. Covers six whale species - Blue, Fin, Sei, Minke, Orca and Humpback. Any whale observations which were not identified at the species level have been excluded from this collection.

Original data obtained from http://data.aad.gov.au/digir/DiGIR.php and registered into iOBIS on 2009-01-27. This dataset on OBIS-SEAMAP is a subset of marine mammal, seabird and/or sea turtle records from the dataset on iOBIS (Total number of records: 144) harvested into OBIS-SEAMAP on 2011-10-11.
