Our objective is to map the distribution of upper-trophic predators with respect to physical and biological gradients across the NC shelf. A team of observers used standardized population sampling techniques, including line-transect and strip transect methods, to survey the distribution and abundance of marine mammals, birds and turtles. By repeatedly surveying the study area in conjunction with physical and biological measurements from in-situ and remote-sensing platforms, we will quantify how these predators respond to changes in the oceanography of this dynamic region over short time scales (days) and across seasons (summer - winter).</purpose></descript><citation><citeinfo><origin>LaBrecque, E</origin><pubdate>2020</pubdate><title>Cape Hatteras 04-05</title><onlink>https://doi.org/10.82144/dfe4c5b1</onlink><serinfo><sername>OBIS-SEAMAP</sername><issue>298</issue></serinfo><pubinfo><pubplace>https://seamap.env.duke.edu/dataset/298</pubplace><publish>OBIS-SEAMAP</publish></pubinfo><edition>Version 1.6.0</edition><geoform>vector digital data</geoform></citeinfo></citation><timeperd><current>ground condition</current><timeinfo><rngdates><begdate>20040804</begdate><enddate>20050202</enddate></rngdates></timeinfo></timeperd><status><progress>In work</progress><update>Unknown</update></status><spdom><bounding><westbc Sync="TRUE">-77.1</westbc><eastbc Sync="TRUE">-74.497</eastbc><northbc Sync="TRUE">36.4893</northbc><southbc Sync="TRUE">34.2832</southbc></bounding><lboundng><leftbc Sync="TRUE">-75.168700</leftbc><rightbc Sync="TRUE">-74.497000</rightbc><bottombc Sync="TRUE">35.338500</bottombc><topbc Sync="TRUE">36.685500</topbc></lboundng><descgeog>Atlantic</descgeog></spdom><accconst>Open public unless otherwise noted.
