Girringun Aboriginal Corporation are the telemetry tag owner with funds granted through the 'Traditional Use Marine Resource Agreement' process. This is one of many activities to facilitate Traditional Owner 'On Country' resource management. Funds for this activity have generously been provided by DEWHA and North Queensland Bulk Ports (NQBP). In-kind support (training, logistics and vessels) was donated by DERM and GHD. Giru-Dala and Gudjuda Traditional Owners welcomed and actively participated in this 'On Country' activity.

Abstract:
This tagging Project represents the collaboration and efforts of three Aboriginal Traditional Owner (Girringun, Giru Dala and Gudjuda) groups alongside industry (NQBP and GHD) and agency (DERM and DEWHA) partners. The adult female green turtle was captured and released as a training and interpretive activity for On Country management.
