Not much is known about mother-pup behavior in the sea otter population of Simpson Bay, Prince William Sound, Alaska, United States. In these studies, firstly, water depth and location of feeding females with pups of different ages were recorded (global positioning system [GPS] locations of the sea otters are given in the map). Secondly, boat locations were noted when females with pups were observed for 24 hour activity budgets (GPS locations of the boat are given in the map). Weather, time and tidal conditions were also recorded and tested on the influence on sea otters behavior.
<purpose/><supplinf/></descript><citation><citeinfo><origin>Osterrieder, S</origin><pubdate>2012</pubdate><title>Sea otter females with pups in Prince William Sound, Alaska</title><onlink>https://doi.org/10.82144/107143ce</onlink><serinfo><sername>OBIS-SEAMAP</sername><issue>712</issue></serinfo><pubinfo><pubplace>http://seamap.env.duke.edu/dataset/712</pubplace><publish>OBIS-SEAMAP</publish></pubinfo><edition>Version 1.0.0</edition></citeinfo></citation><timeperd><current>ground condition</current><timeinfo><rngdates><begdate>2008-05-06</begdate><enddate>2008-08-18</enddate></rngdates></timeinfo></timeperd><status><progress>Complete</progress><update>None planned</update></status><spdom><bounding><westbc>-145.939</westbc><eastbc>-145.8442167</eastbc><northbc>60.6753667</northbc><southbc>60.6213667</southbc></bounding><lboundng><leftbc Sync="TRUE">-145.939</leftbc><rightbc Sync="TRUE">-145.8442167</rightbc><bottombc Sync="TRUE">60.6213667</bottombc><topbc Sync="TRUE">60.6753667</topbc></lboundng></spdom><accconst>Open public unless otherwise noted.
