These data were obtained from harbor porpoises (Phocoena phocoena) equipped with satellite-linked transmitters in the Gulf of Maine. All porpoises were obtained from herring weirs on the island of Grand Manan, New Brunswick, Canada (44 deg 45' N, 67 deg 45' W) during the summer months (July - September). Details on each porpoise are given in the summary table. Positional data are obtained via Service ARGOS (http://www.argosinc.com/). See Read and Westgate (1997) for complete details of tagging methods.
<purpose>Please contact data provider</purpose></descript><timeperd><timeinfo><rngdates><begdate>19950813</begdate><enddate>20001122</enddate></rngdates></timeinfo><current>ground condition</current></timeperd><status><progress>Complete</progress><update>None planned</update></status><spdom><descgeog>North Atlantic</descgeog><bounding><westbc>-72.441</westbc><eastbc>-59.407</eastbc><northbc>50.291</northbc><southbc>40.706</southbc></bounding>
